This course is a great layout and offers a lot of challenges and tee options for all levels of play. However the course has been tricked up so you can lose a ball in a fairway bunker or waste bunker because of the extremely long buffalo grass that surrounds each bunker and there are a lot of bunkers! The average golfer has enough trouble getting out of these extremely severe bunkers anyway without having to worry about losing a golf ball in the grass next to the bunker! I have had hanging lies on some of the bunker edges!

My price was from a 4 pack sold by the course, so generally not quite that cheap. Greens were pretty fast, it's the only time I can remember never being short on my putts! Greens also had some rough spots and had been aerated about a month ago, I would have thought they'd be better by now. Very noisy with Natl Guard jets flying for about 1/2 hour of the round. Maintenance crews were also pretty bad on the front nine. They consistently waited just behind us with the mowers running. I know it has to be done sometime, but wish it wasn't us that they seemed to follow. Nevertheless, it's a course I always look forward to playing. If you are playing for the first time, buy the course guide. My Skycaddie SG3 didn't have enough info to figure out what to do on several holes.

I played the front 9 twice b/c the back 9 was backed up, so I guess I can only comment on the front 9.

If you're an above average or scratch golfer, then this is a good course for you. The fairways are difficult to hit for the average golfer and there is plenty of rough which can make for a long day for the average golfer. A bit over priced as far as Im concerned.

Murphy Creek is a great golf course. It hosted the USGA Publinks Championship, so you know it is a fantastic golf course. The course, designed by Ken Kavenaugh and Blake Stirling is one of the best in the state of Colorado. Always ranked in the top 10, Murphy Creek is a good test, and very enjoyable. A pleasure to play.
